Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series comprised of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra has been officially unpacked and they are coming to Singapore.

Headlining the Galaxy S20 series is the camera setup. Samsung says they’ve implemented ways to make the shooting experience better for its users. First of which is the new Space Zoom. The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ capable of up to 3X lossless zoom and up to 30X hybrid zoom. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 Ultra can handle up to 10X lossless zoom and a whopping 100X hybrid zoom.

Next is a feature that lets you take a 10-second clip and then the phone automatically produces still images of the best moments from that clip — video and photo in one. Samsung aptly calls this Single Take.

All three phones are also 5G capable. While 5G is still at its growing stages, Samsung wanted to make sure they have phones available that can take advantage of this tech once it matures.

We get the usual sensors and security features like the Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor and Face Recognition. The phones also have an IP68 rating making them dust and water-resistant. Features and specs will mostly be the same as everywhere else in the world. Here’s a quick look:

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series will be available starting March 6, 2020 at local telecommunication operators — M1, Singtel, and StarHub. It will also be available to Samsung Experience stores, major consumer electronics and IT stores, and online channels like Lazada and Shopee Singapore.

The new flagship S series — while having top-of-the-line numbers in terms of specs — wants you to focus more on the experiences it will provide.

For instance, the new zoom capabilities on the main telephoto cameras are noteworthy. Samsung is calling the feature Space Zoom with the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ capable of up to 3X lossless zoom and up to 30X hybrid zoom. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 Ultra can handle up to 10X lossless zoom and a whopping 100X hybrid zoom.

Pre-order details

Between February 21, 2020, and March 5, 2020, consumers who pre-order can get a US$ 100 Samsung credit with a Galaxy S20, US$150 Samsung credit with a Galaxy S20+ or US$ 200 Samsung credit with a Galaxy S20 Ultra. Pre-order consumers can build their own Galaxy Ecosystem and redeem their Samsung credit for curated bundles or select products like Galaxy Buds+, QLED 8K TVs, chargers and more.

Consumers who trade-in an eligible device on samsung.com, Best Buy or the Shop Samsung app can get up to US$ 700 towards purchase of a device in the Galaxy S20 line. The offer is for a limited time.

Which postpaid plan is the right one for you?

Smart offers different postpaid plans to fit different budgets, but consistently they have two options for you to choose from.

First, you can pay a one-time fee on top of the signature plans. Second, you can opt for a monthly installment, handing out a down payment with a monthly device fee on top of the monthly plan for a 24-month contract period.

As of writing, Smart offers the Galaxy S20 series through pre-orders, which will run until February 25. Subscribers with approved pre-orders for the Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra will get a free Galaxy Buds+.

Terms and availability

The Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra will be available via Smart stores for zero percent credit card installment at Plan 1999 and Plan 2999 — through one-time cash out option.

Zero percent credit card installment for 24 months is only available for BPI. For credit card installments for three, six, and twelve months terms are allowed for BPI, BDO, Citibank, and Metrobank.
